Been wondering about the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits?

Have you been wondering about the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits? Because I have, and my curiosity finally got the best of me. [Plus I had multiple people ask me about them, and I felt like a bad beauty blogger when I couldn’t tell them anything because I didn’t own one.]

So here’s my Kylie Jenner Lip Kit review :

Shade Variety – As time passes, I’m more and more impressed with Kylie’s shade variety. I’m particularly in love with the newest shade Pumpkin from her Fall release, but we will talk more about that later. I ordered the shade Ginger, which is actually a really unique shade and its unlike anything else I own. It’s described as a warm, terracotta brown. I love ANYTHING terracotta! I was worried it would be super similar to some of my other liquid lippie shades.

Formula – Honestly, I was fully prepared to hate this formula. I’d heard all sorts of reviews that ranged from “… made by Colourpop… same formula… best formula ever…etc”.  When I heard Kylie Lip Kits were made by Colourpop, I was super apprehensive. Colourpop Ultra Matte is my least favorite liquid lipstick formula that I have tried.

I’m surprised to report that I actually really love Kylie’s formula. It’s not drying, goes on super opaque, and lasts for a really long time on my lips. I found that it does take a few minutes to dry down, but once it’s dry its completely transfer proof. My only dislike about the formula was that it seems to darken on my lips as the day goes on, but it’s not the only formula of liquid lipstick that I have that problem with. Anyone else experience this?

Lip Liner – I love love love the lip liner that comes in the lip kit. It’s honestly one of the best lip liners I’ve ever used. It glides on so easily!

Now here’s why I won’t ever buy another Kylie Lip Kit [well never say never, but you know]… The price of the kit is $29. Well, that is reasonable for a liquid lipstick and liner. It’s actually sort of a deal considering most high end liquid lipsticks cost $20+ and high end liners are around the same price. What irritates me about the Kylie Lip Kits is that I have to pay $8.95 (aka $9.00) to ship something USPS that weighs under a pound. She is literally profiting majorly off shipping, which I do not agree with. For that reason, Kylie won’t be getting any more of my money.

While I did really like the formula of the liquid lipstick, and I’m borderline obsessed with the liner that comes in the Kylie Lip Kit I will not be purchasing anything else from her brand. As much as I love some of the shades she is releasing, I think its outrageous how much she charges for shipping! This day and age shipping should be free or damn near close. How can I ship a piece of furniture to my house for nothing, and pay $9 to ship a lipstick kit?!
